Recallina – Privacy policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
In short: Recallina records your voice notes and turns them into text on your phone. The audio stays on your phone. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and the developer does not receive your notes or your data.
Who is responsible
Giuseppe Infantone, info@supyoshi.eu. Write to this address for any question about your data.
What Recallina does with your data
Microphone. It records only when you start a recording, by tapping the button or with the headset command. While it records, Android shows the microphone indicator. The audio is saved in the app's private storage on your phone.
Transcription. The text is produced on the phone, without internet, with the NVIDIA Parakeet TDT 0.6B v3 model (CC BY 4.0 licence). The model (about 600 MB) is downloaded from Hugging Face only if you ask for it; Hugging Face sees your IP address, like any website.
Headset buttons. Recallina listens to the headset buttons only to start and stop notes. To pause music it uses Android's notification access: it does not read your notifications, it only needs to see which app is playing.
Where the text of your notes can go (only if you choose).
- Nextcloud Notes: Recallina sends the text, with its title, to the Nextcloud you indicate. You sign in in the browser: Recallina never sees your password, it receives a key valid only for the app, which you can remove from Nextcloud (Settings → Security).
- Other apps: with “Send to…” the text is handed to that app, under its own rules.
- Your own server: if you set one up, Recallina sends it the text for the title and, only if the phone cannot transcribe, the audio too; the server deletes it afterwards. It also sends the phone model name, the app version and a log of app events. That server is run by you or by whoever gave it to you: its privacy policy is theirs.
New versions. Recallina asks Google Play, on your phone, whether a newer version exists. It contacts no one else and sends nothing of yours. You can turn the notice off in Settings → Beta and news.
Where the keys are kept. The keys for Nextcloud and for your own server stay in the app's private storage and are not included in Google backups or in the transfer to another phone.
If you write to us
The “Contact us” button (Settings) opens your email app with a message already addressed to info@supyoshi.eu. Nothing is sent until you press “Send”. If you tick “Attach diagnostic information”, the message contains: phone model, Android and app versions, which permissions you granted, some settings and the latest app events (for example “service started”, “transcription failed”), without addresses, emails, headset or app names, and without note names. It never contains audio or the text of your notes. Before writing you can read everything with “See what I attach”. If Recallina notices a malfunction (for example it closes by itself) it tells you and offers to report it the same way; you can turn this off in Settings → Beta and news. We keep messages only to understand and fix the problem.
What it does not do
No account to create. No ads. No usage statistics. No sale or transfer of data. No audio or text sent to the developer.
For how long
For as long as you keep the notes on your phone. “Delete” removes them from the phone; “Delete all” (swipe left) also removes those sent to Nextcloud. Uninstalling the app removes everything that is on the phone; what was already sent to Nextcloud or to your own server stays there and is deleted from there.
Your rights
Since the developer does not keep your data, deletion and export are done from the phone and from the services you connected. If you believe one of your rights (access, correction, deletion, objection) is not respected, you can write to info@supyoshi.eu or contact your data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
Children
Recallina is not intended for children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear at this address with the updated date.
